Administrator at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

The Vänersborg area consists of two prisons in Vänersborg and one remand center in Uddevalla. Östragård prison is an open facility with space for 192 clients. Brinkeberg prison is a closed facility with space for 144, and the remand center in Uddevalla has 57 places. We are a content-rich organization, and we employ correctional officers, administrators, nurses, cooks, teachers, production leaders, managers, and more. RESPONSIBILITIES

The administrator is responsible for client administration such as court management including sentence calculation, finances related to our inmates, invoice management, archives, diaries, mail handling, orders, and handling the authority's incoming emails. The duties also include other common administrative tasks and personnel administration. You will assist with year-end closing.

In the role of administrator, you will have external contacts, representing the Swedish Prison and Probation Service to partners and the public. The tasks require that you have knowledge of the principle of public access while ensuring that confidentiality is maintained.

The office is located in a prison where you will meet colleagues and inmates. You will be subject to the security work that applies to the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is self-sufficient and service-oriented. The processing in the work is part of the legal process, so it is essential that you are meticulous and structured. You have good judgment, are quality-conscious, can make the right priorities, and are accustomed to working at a fast pace at times. The work as an administrator is a service function and requires that you can work both independently and in close collaboration with other employees at the prison as well as other actors within and outside the authority.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Preferably with legal/economic training or other education deemed suitable by the employer.
• Good knowledge of the Administrative Procedure Act.
• Good knowledge of the principle of public access.
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• Good IT skills.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in sentence calculation and/or legal background.
• Several years of documented experience in diary management, archives, handling confidential documents, and managing authority emails or similar.
• Experience in administrative work within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
• Experience working in administrative data systems.
• Knowledge and experience working in financial systems and/or Platina.
• Knowledge of the penalty system.
• Experience in administrative tasks from public administration.
• Knowledge of inmates' funds.
